One of the problem IS auditors face most often is the expectation from management and Audit Committee specifically. But this expectation is not easy to manage with the resistance from users and new challenges from the IT department with new technology and compliance requirements. Chester will share some experience on the whereabouts should we focus on most that the management should look at and how to be prepared with challenges from the new fronts such as the new PDPO and Cloud Computing

Chester Soong is the Managing Director of Security Consulting Services Ltd. in   Hong Kong. The company focuses on providing leading edge internet and information security consulting services. He was formerly the Director of Certification Services and still serves as member of the Asian Advisory Board and CBK Committee of (ISC)2.  

He started his own ISP outfit back in 1994, and he was working for Citibank N/A as a Project Officer before that. Chester graduated from California State University, Fullerton with double majors in Information Systems and Finance. He was certified as CISSP in 1997, the first to pass the CISSP exam in Asia.

Chester is a frequent speaker of various regional conferences and exhibitions on the topics of IT development and information security. He holds several public positions in organizations from the industry and government areas, including: member of Information Security Working Group of OGCIO from the HKSAR Government, Member of the WiFi Security Working Group and Consumer Education Programme on Use of Broadband Services Committee of Office of the Telecommunications Authority (OFTA) of HKSARG, and Council member of Hong Kong Information Technology Federation. Chester also served as Committee Member and Lecturer of Professional Diploma Program in “Internet and Information Security” at City University of Hong Kong. He is a member of the Election Committee of the Chief Executive Election of HKSAR Government representing the IT Functional Constituency in 2007, and a member of the group, ITVoice, which represents the IT professionals to protect democracy and the best interests for the IT industry.
